Eideticom announces presentations at Storage Developers Conference 2017 by Stephen Bates, CTO and Sean Gibb, VP Software
Calgary, Canada – September 11th, 2017 – Eidetic Communications Inc. (Eideticom), a developer of leading edge storage, compute and application software targeting programmable platforms on the cloud or at the network edge, is pleased to announce that Stephen Bates, CTO and Sean Gibb, VP Software, will be making several presentation at SNIA’s Storage Developers Conference (SDC) 2017. SDC 2017 will take place at the Santa Clara Hyatt, Santa Clara, CA on September 11-14, 2017 and provides technical discussions and education on the latest storage technologies and standards.
Stephen be presenting two talks at SDC 2017. The first, entitled “Linux Optimizations for Low Latency Block Devices” is a full plenary session and will discuss how the Linux kernel is evolving to support low-latency NVM Express SSDs. Stephen’s second talk is entitled “p2pmem: Enabling PCIe Peer-2-Peer in Linux” and describes status and recent efforts around the p2pmem linux framework which enables PCIe endpoints to DMA data to each other under host software control.
Sean’s talk, entitled “An NVMe-based Offload Engine for Storage Acceleration “, will present a first look at Eideticom’s NoLoad™ acceleration product and some of the architecture considerations and challenges involved in the design. The talk will highlight an industry first usage of a FPGA based RISC-V (www.riscv.org) processor to implement an NVMe host controller interface and embedding of acceleration functions within an NVMe framework.
